Well, well, well… it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Sorry for my absence. I was planning on taking a break from blogging during my time in the States, but apparently that three-week break meant a two-month rest. But here we are… two months later. A lot has happened in that two months; some I’ll touch on down the road, some I won’t. Some things are mine to share, and others aren’t. But if I’ve learned anything in these two months, it’s that life is hard.
There are some not so nice people in the world.
Evil seems to get the upper hand sometimes.
Life isn't always pretty; sometimes it can be so, so ugly.
There is hurt, sickness, and brokenness everywhere.
But despite those heavy things, there is goodness. And love. And faithfulness. And a lot of amazing things (and people) in this world.
I took a drive around the Dingle Peninsula a couple weeks back. While I had been hoping to go with a friend, she had a job interview come up and wasn’t able to make it. Ultimately, it turned out okay, because it was a ‘me and God’ day. I know that sounds cheesy, but it was just a good day to be alone, pray, forget about life for a little bit and just enjoy the amazing creation that God has blessed us with. (And the Dingle Peninsula definitely shows off God’s handiwork!)
I’ve been reminded (again) that God is faithful. Always.
God conquers evil.
I guess what I’ve continually learned these last two months is that life is real, and big, and scary. But God is real, and big, and not-so-scary.
I’ll leave you with that for now, but hopefully I won’t be gone for another two months. I’d like to say I’ll see you here again next week.
